What kind of transfers do powderless DTF+ printers produce?
Crio transfers are high definition, full color powderless DTF+ toner transfers. They require no weeding and can be applied to virtually any substrate.
What can transfers be applied to?
Crio transfers can be applied to nearly any surface that can handle heat. If it can’t withstand heat, there are water slide papers that can be used for transfers without heat, using water instead.
With Crio printers, you can produce vibrant, high-quality, and high-resolution prints and transfer them to a variety of substrates such as:
- Light Garments
- Dark Garments
- Cotton
- Nylon
- Polypropylene
- Polyester
- Mixed blend fabrics
- Demin
- Hard Surfaces (mugs, cups, wood, metal , glass, plates, etc.)
- And much more!
Don’t restrict yourself by only creating t-shirts There’s so much more you can do.
Do I need a heat press or can an iron be used?
For successful transfers, a quality heat press that gives even heat and pressure is a MUST. You cannot use an iron.
The most ideal heat press you can invest in for the highest quality transfers is a high-end, American-made swing away heat press.
Do I need to pay for training?
Crio provides free training, how-to videos, and other resources to help you be successful and profitable.
The dealer you purchase a Crio printer from may also offer their own training, as well.
What is the cost of creating a transfer?
This depends on many factors such as the size of your design, which Crio printer is used, and the transfer paper used.
Most Crio users average a cost of $3.50-$4.50 per sheet. This includes the paper and the toner costs.
Therefore, depending on if you are creating a large t-shirt transfer, a small chest or hat logo, or anything in between, your cost per transfer will vary. For example, the cost of a small chest logo could be as low as $.25.
How long will my transfers last?
On average, a Crio transfer lasts for about 30 washes.
This depends on the detergent or fabric softener used, the application of the transfer itself, the type of material transferred to, and if the garment is put through a dryer.
For the best and longest lasting results, we recommend that garments with white toner transfers are washed in cold water, inside-out, and hung to dry.
Can I make special colors such as metallic or neon-colored transfers with a Crio printer?
There are special papers on the market that help to achieve these special colors and effects. Hot stamping foils can be used in addition to toner to achieve a metallic or sparkly look.
Where can I order supplies?
Union Prints offer replacement consumables such as toner, image drums, or paper.
You can use the widest variety of brands of transfer paper, so you’re able to shop around for the best prices that fit your needs.
Are Crio printers wireless?
Crio printers can be added to your network. They can be directly connected to your personal computer, a networked computer or a networked router.
How much can I sell a t-shirt for?
The price to charge for a t-shirt depends on the market in which you are selling your shirts and whether it is a custom design or something you’ve already created.
Most people report they can sell a shirt for $18-$25.
What types of files can I print?
Vector files are always optimal for printing. However you can use a .JPG, or .PDF if the background is removed.
When using rasterized image, use a high resolution image. Poor graphics, will leave you with less than satisfactory quality prints.
